The Albemarle County Service Authority’s Human Resources and Administration Department serves the primary function of providing internal administrative support to all departments throughout the organization and performing various human resources functions. In addition to this critical role, the Department also provides the public with assistance in responding to customer inquiries. Known within the organization as the “A-Team,” the Department is responsible for maintaining employee records and benefits administration, document and database management, overseeing the Safety and Risk Management and Water Conservation programs, producing customer and employee newsletters, assuring positive employee relations and providing employee guidance, as well as serving as clerk to the ACSA’s Board of Directors.
The Information Technology (I.T.) Department designs network and telephone infrastructure, installs and maintains hardware equipment and supports software environments to ensure that computers, network and internet services work efficiently. The I.T. Department also develops and maintains our intranet as a source of employee information, databases and digital forms. This website is also developed and maintained by the ACSA I.T. Department.
Our Geographic Information System (GIS) is housed and maintained by the ACSA's I.T. Department. Together with the Engineering and Maintenance staff, our GIS is built into a true representation of the ACSA's utility infrastructure. The interactive maps that are available on this website (Where's My Meter & Capital Improvement Projects) were developed and are continuously updated by our GIS Coordinator.
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) is also housed and maintained in the I.T. Department. Our SCADA Technician is responsible for configuring and maintaining our SCADA system, with the help of our Facilities Maintenance staff.
