BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED!

Update 12/26/2025 3:30 PM: The ACSA is pleased to announce the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.  We have completed two rounds of VDH-required samples and all results were negative, which is a good thing!!  We are so thankful for your patience as we have worked through these challenges together over the past three days.  More information can be found here

Update 12/26/2025 12:00 PM: Results from the first round of bacteriological samples came back negative, which is what we were expecting.  We should have results from the second round of samples after 3:00 pm this afternoon.  As long as those results are also negative, we will be seeking approval from VDH to lift the Boil Water Advisory.  Until then, the BWA remains in effect.

Update 12/25/2025 3:30 PM: The first round of VDH-required samples are being analyzed and results are expected late tonight. One additional round of samples was collected this afternoon for final testing before the Boil Water Advisory can be lifted—we are almost there as long as both rounds are negative. We will continue to post updates as we receive them and encourage affected customers to keep an eye on our social media channels and website

Update 12/24/2025 8:30 PM: Repairs to the Route 29 water main are complete and service has been restored to all remaining customers. The Boil Water Advisory remains in effect. The first round of VDH-required samples will collected tonight, with the second round scheduled for tomorrow. Two consecutive negative results are required, and testing takes 24 hours. The earliest the BWA could be lifted is Friday, pending negative results.

Update 12/24/2025 12:30 PM: The RWSA and ACSA have been working throughout the morning to restore normal water pressure following a break along Route 29 North. Pressures have started to return to normal, but customers may experience slightly lower pressure and discolored water from the service disruption. Repairs to the break are underway and will continue into the evening hours. The Boil Water Advisory (BWA) will remain in effect until we have been able to collect two rounds of water samples. The first of two rounds of water samples will be collected this evening. At this time, the earliest the BWA can be lifted is Friday afternoon after consultation with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). More information to come as we work through the testing process. Continue to follow us for updates.
