Lead Service Line Inventory

water quality is important, which is why our service lines are lead free

At ACSA, we are proud to serve our customers in Albemarle County with a water system that is 100% lead free across all four of our service areas. This commitment to safety and quality is rooted in our adherence to the highest standards in water distribution, ensuring that our customers receive clean, safe water every day.

Our interactive map provides information in response to the Revised Lead and Copper Rule from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Revised Lead and Copper Rule is designed to protect public health by reducing lead and copper levels in drinking water. The rule requires service providers to take necessary steps to identify and eliminate sources of lead in their infrastructure; increase testing in homes, schools and childcare facilities; and increase transparency by notifying customers about potential risks. These changes help ensure that drinking water remains safe and lead free, especially in vulnerable communities.

As part of our dedication to excellence in service and environmental stewardship, ACSA has proactively maintained and upgraded our infrastructure to prevent the presence of lead in our water lines. We continuously monitor and manage our system to uphold these safety standards, ensuring that all our customers benefit from the same high-quality, lead-free water.

We invite you to use the interactive map to explore our lead-free status in your specific area and learn more about our ongoing efforts to protect public health and the environment. This inventory of all ACSA water service lines is a living document that we will continue to update as additional information is available.

We ask customers to review data specific to their address and notify our office of any discrepancies at webmaster@serviceauthority.org.
